What are Binance Event Contracts?
Event Contracts are an innovative derivative product on Binance where users predict binary outcomes of specific events. Unlike traditional price contracts, the underlying is an event result — YES or NO. When the event resolves, contracts auto-settle: winners receive full payout, losers lose their stake.
Example contracts: "Will BTC exceed $X by month end?" "Will ETH be above $Y on a specific date?" "Will a specific blockchain complete its mainnet upgrade by Q2?" This product functions like a prediction market within Binance's regulated framework.
Types of Event Contracts
1. Price Prediction Events
Predict whether a cryptocurrency reaches a target price by a specific time. Most common type. Example: "Will BTC be above $100,000 at 20:00 UTC this Friday?" YES position wins if BTC is above target at settlement.
2. Market Data Events
Predict whether total crypto market cap, exchange trading volumes, or open interest metrics reach specific targets.
3. On-Chain Metric Events
Predict specific blockchain data: whether a protocol's TVL exceeds a threshold, active address counts, etc.
4. Project Milestone Events
Predict specific project milestones: mainnet launch, token burns, major partnership announcements.

Strategies and Risk Management
Fundamental Analysis
Research on-chain data, technical indicators, and market sentiment to assess event probabilities. Requires deep industry knowledge and data analysis skills.
Probability Arbitrage
Compare market implied probability vs your own probability estimate. When you believe an event's true probability (e.g., 65%) exceeds market-implied probability (e.g., 50%), there's a positive expected value opportunity.
Hedge/Insurance Strategy
Large BTC spot holders can bet YES on "BTC drops more than X%" as portfolio insurance against their spot position, reducing overall portfolio risk.
