What is Binance Crypto Lending (Collateral Loan)?
Binance Crypto Loans allow you to use your cryptocurrency holdings as collateral to borrow other assets (stablecoins, other crypto) without selling your original assets. You retain your collateral's price appreciation potential while gaining liquidity for trading, investment, or other needs.
Think of it like a mortgage: you keep ownership and upside of your property while accessing capital. In crypto, pledge BTC as collateral, borrow USDT for other investments. If BTC rises, you profit from both the collateral appreciation and your borrowed investment returns.
How Crypto Lending Works
Key Parameters
- LTV (Loan-to-Value): Loan amount / Collateral value. Binance typically starts at 65-80% initial LTV
- Liquidation LTV: When collateral drops causing LTV to reach ~85-90%, system auto-liquidates some collateral to repay the loan
- Interest Rate: Accrues daily; varies by currency and term, typically 1-15% APY
- Terms: 7/14/30/90/180 days fixed, or flexible (repay anytime)
Loan Process
- Select collateral asset (BTC) and borrow asset (USDT)
- System calculates maximum borrow amount based on collateral market price and LTV
- Confirm loan amount, rate, and term
- USDT immediately credited to spot account; BTC locked as collateral
- Repay principal + interest at maturity, or repay early anytime
- After full repayment, collateral BTC released back to account
Step-by-Step Guide
Access Crypto Loans
Login to Binance → "Earn" → "Loans" or search for "Crypto Loans" in the products menu.
Select Collateral and Borrow Assets
Choose your collateral (BTC, ETH, BNB) and the asset you want to borrow (USDT, USDC).
Enter Loan Amount
Input the amount you want to borrow. System auto-calculates required collateral and resulting LTV.
Choose Loan Term
Select repayment term. Flexible loans can be repaid anytime. Fixed-term loans must be repaid by maturity or face forced liquidation.
Confirm and Borrow
Review all parameters carefully (rate, term, liquidation price). Confirm. Funds arrive instantly.
Monitor and Repay
Watch collateral price closely. Add collateral or repay early if LTV approaches liquidation level. Repay in one click before maturity.
Common Use Cases
- Leveraged Long: Pledge BTC → borrow USDT → buy more BTC. Effectively leveraged BTC long position.
- Liquidity Need: Access cash without selling crypto and triggering capital gains.
- Cross-Asset Yield: Borrow USDT to deploy in higher-yield DeFi protocols or Binance Earn products.
- Tax Efficiency: In some jurisdictions, borrowing is not a taxable event while selling crypto is.
